O, raise up thine eyes to eternal sky
In thy bondage strike out to be free
Hush the whispering voice of the infinite why
With “I am and I was and I ever will be.”
U.S. Andersen
This is by far the most important topic I could tackle. It is my deepest hope that you will read without fear or judgment, allowing the discovery of the pearl of great price.
Last week I talked about the “Real Jesus” and how he brought a divergent message and worldview to humanity compared to that of most Christian teachings today. Real Jesus never reinforced religious laws, shame, guilt, separation from God, or moral judgment. He never taught any such concept as eternal hellfire or the need for salvation in the form of a human sacrifice to shield people from a blood-thirsty god.
Real Jesus did not portray himself as an impossible standard—an untouchable God—but rather a very human, touchable beacon; a prototype, and a reachable target for all people. He had the conscious anointing (the christos) on his life that inspired him to spend his life telling people around them that they too could have this anointing, if only they would see and believe when they were being given the opportunity. But believe what?
Awhile back, I posted a blog on the topic of detrimental beliefs, and how they strip of us our power. Today we are going to look at the other side of that coin. Beliefs are not always unhelpful; they can also be infinitely helpful because beliefs—good or bad—are potent. They can bring calamity and disaster or good fortune and wellbeing.
It is time to consider how our beliefs either exalt us with the beneficence and creative power of the Universe, or they become the obstacles to the same.
The following offering is rather the apex of my life discovery in recent years. It’s the major point I’ve been working up to these past months with all the talk about the power struggles between good and evil wreaking havoc in our realm, the frustrating disempowerment programming, word magic, and the real cause of suffering.
What I’m going to offer, based on how I understand this great Story so far, reveals the greatest deception of this realm, creating a 180 degree reality bubble in which we live in sleepy ignorance. It is my hope that you can at least sit with this beautiful pearl long enough that, like Sleeping Beauty, the thousand-year sleepy spell is broken for you, too.
A Level Playing Field?
I have always struggled with the incredible disparity of wealth, health, and opportunity among the people on earth. It seems so incredibly unfair that some people live out this life with seemingly everything made easy for them—they get the best, highest paying jobs, go to the best schools, acquire beautiful homes and families, and enjoy access to all the food and benefits that make someone able to be healthy, well educated, and successful. Their success momentum breeds more success, prosperity, and opportunity. They have little worry about safety and quality of life.
Meanwhile, a great majority of the world lives in deep poverty. And despite its idealistic image of “the American Dream,” a great percentage of Americans live paycheck to paycheck with no backup savings or plan. So many of our own countrymen have limited access to healthy food, are unable to obtain adequate health care, and rarely have the liberty to take vacations, or pursue their gifts and talents. They are often one bad decision or one circumstantial mishap away from absolute poverty and devastation. We know all of this.
This has never sat right with me…the deep injustice of the chasm between the rich and the poor, the healthy and the sick, the successful and the just-getting-bys. What has always really irked me are when the rich or privileged land on some life-changing information—usually because of their privilege—that could be a huge key to relieving the suffering of many, but what do they do? They set up classes, lectures, seminars, and retreats that are out of reach—usually charging many thousands of dollars for these offerings. Like, who of the down-and-out people who really need the information are going to be able to access it to change their sad, desperate lives?
This is exactly why I have always offered my mentally and spiritually liberating book, Raising Hell, for free. I have also given copyright permissions to people in other countries who want to translate it and publish it, like my Facebook friend Ken Fawcett in Japan who translated it into Japanese over the course of several years, and published it all on his own time and dime. Check out this beautiful cover concept!
I have long noticed that the generously provisional Earth Mother and the life-giving Sun Father are not partial to their children; they both give abundantly, freely, and faithfully, without regard, to all of their children. Therefore, I surmised, the truest and purest solution for the most benevolent and prosperous outcomes must be equally available to all people, perhaps right under our noses. But what is it? I frequently asked but the skies seemed silent for years on the matter.
And do you know why? I came to understand it was because I resisted the answer. It was too simple, and it implicated too much personal responsibility.
If you are reading along, and you are in that “majority” as described above who can’t get a leg up to save yourself, I’m going to give you the root ingredient of the secret formula to an abundant, prosperous, happy life…for free. You can forego that $5,000 weekend seminar by merely reading on for a few minutes.
Of course, like any new knowledge, you will have to go out and educate yourself on this new way of thinking, and then you will have to learn skills through intention and practice. But what I’m about to say will be basically the same thing those expensive experts will tell you, albeit in my own 10-minute version. How do I know? Because they are operating off consistent laws of this realm that govern all experience, just like every other successful person in this world. All of the impactful self-help books, retreats, seminars, books, and teachings follow these principles at some level. People from all centuries and all walks of life have recorded personal experiences of how these principles have miraculously improved their lives.
Let’s first turn to Jesus, as he was one of the familiar teachers of the nuances of this principle, for which he was accused of blasphemy.
Jesus’s Great Blasphemy & Precursor to Power
As I move through this section, I want to make the point that I only quote Scriptures as a means of “looking back,” not to prove anything. I can look back now at the bold yet cryptic statements Jesus made through my new lenses, and now his sayings make much more sense. The interpretations of the sayings of Jesus that I’m presenting today were taught to me through various authors and works, and then assembled and reinforced within by Spirit, gradually and gently over many years. I would not have been ready for these truths early in my religious deconstruction process, but I see now that all roads led me to this.
Jesus’s great blasphemy was recorded by the Book of John.
“Jesus replied to them, ‘I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?’
“The Jews answered Him, ‘We are not stoning you for a good work, but for blasphemy; and because you, being a man, make yourself out to be God.’
“Jesus answered them, ‘Has it not been written in your Law: “I said, you are gods”?’” (John 10:32-34).
Throughout my Christian experience, this passage elicited mental discomfort because it contained a huge contradiction. It was used to establish the cornerstone Church doctrine of Jesus alone being God. Yet, Jesus is saying, “Yes, I am one of the gods written about in your law.”
Like any good, compliant Christian who learns to gloss over those not-so-subtle Pandora’s Box passages, I dismissed my cognitive dissonance, ignoring the fact that everyone—including all the pastors of all my church experiences—didn’t want to touch that verse either.
What was Jesus implying exactly?
First of all, I have written about the recorded history of the Elohim, or the demi-gods who came from other galaxies, bringing DNA to earth to seed the human race for this “Earth Project.” As I have written about the works of Hebrew expert and Bible translator, Mauro Biglino, as well as other historians and Bible translators. Genesis 1:26, in pure translation, is offering us the backstory of our origins, saying that we have been created in the image and likeness of the Elohim, the demi-gods, not the Transcendent God who is beyond form and comprehension. Notice in the Hebrew Interlinear Bible that there is a plurality of beings who are creating the humans.
Also, here is the Hebrew Interlinear on Psalm 82:6, the verse Jesus is quoting. Note the “p” next to “you” (Elohim), indicating plurality:
The Psalmist is referring to the Elohim as sons of the supreme one (one of the Elohim? God?), and simultaneously they are the humans who will die.
Humans, from the reports of countless sources through time, are also gods or Elohim (powerful spirit-beings), now disguised and condensed in human form. It has been suggested that we spirit-beings came down to earth from other planets and star systems for this unique challenging game-of-earth experience. The earthen physical body—as a container—is what the demi-gods were creating for these immortal god-beings who, like themselves, needed “avatars” or physical vessels in order to come to this realm. In the Hebrew, this is the meaning of “Adam” or “Adama,” the fusion of spirit-beings in earthen vessels to produce humans.
I’ll admit that it’s a little hard to swallow this cosmic, uncontained way of thinking about ourselves after believing that the Bible was a “neat, tidy” record of interactions between some supreme Deity of the Universe and his lowly, needy, powerless creations on earth for most of one’s life. But according to Italian Bible translator and Hebrew expert, Mauro Biglino (and many other historians and language scholars), the Bible is not a record of any kind of supreme Deity’s interactions with humankind. It’s a historical record of the Elohim (e.g. Yahweh/Enlil, Enki, Anu, Asherah, Ba’al, etc), who, in addition to designing and bringing forth the Adamic or human race, were occupying earth, fighting over power, land, women, and possessions. I personally do believe that there is a transcendent God-Source beyond our comprehension, but the Bible, it now seems, is not about that.
Why would such an Earth experience be created in the first place? Many novelties are unique to Earth, they say, such as deep emotions, physical intimacy, and duality/contrasts. Humans are the divine beings submerged into an amnesic, seemingly powerless state from which we have to awaken—like an ultimate treasure hunt.
I do suspect (hope?) that we each set ourselves up for our major Earth experience(s) ahead of time and that they weren’t dictated to us or thrust upon us. I can’t say this for sure, as I still have a hard time accepting that people would elect the depth of suffering that some endure.
It sounds risky to set oneself up for such an experiment of life. But is it really? I now think that this life on this realm in time is an illusion, like a simulation, a game. We are here for play. We knew coming into this realm it would feel murky and dense, tricking us into thinking our earth stories were so serious and difficult ultimate-reality. Earth playground, I think, is for the bravest of souls who have utmost faith in themselves and the goodness and safety of the Universe. We were the souls who were willing to trick ourselves into an illusion so great, that it can take several lifetimes to wake up to our true identities.
Jesus, as your fellow divine being, was here to help you remember. Ascended masters like Jesus, from the other side of the veil, must come into this realm to help us periodically because the density and illusion is so profound, many of us get stuck here. Jesus came to jog our memories by saying that if we can remember our essence as powerful gods, we will recalibrate to the universally available Christ Consciousness (anointing power). We, the immanent gods in the great family of the Transcendent God (a.k.a. we are all part of the Trinity), embody the same potential for life and power as Jesus himself, as we are all operating from the same Source. This power is no respecter of persons; it’s available to everyone.
“To the one who believes,” says Jesus, “all things are possible” (Mark 9:23).
“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12).
Does this sound like someone who was trying to keep the power of God to himself? Does it sound like a deity who was trying to exclude anyone?
Jesus repeatedly declared to us that the great secret, hidden from the foundation of the world—the actual Good News! You are also a fractal of God in flesh—a microcosm of the macrocosm, a branch on the Vine.
Unfortunately, there are those who become conscious of this innate power when they are not sufficiently shaped and consumed by Love as of yet in this mortal experience, and they are able to use the same power for evil (live backwards). The nature of this realm is to allow for the spectrum of dualistic experience, which means that the game board can’t be controlled (although evil is contained to this realm). By the nature of what we’re here to learn, anything can happen. But it’s important to realize that once you wake up to your power, and if you are using it for love and the liberation of all beings, you cannot be perceptually harmed or thwarted in what you want to accomplish.
In short, you can use your power to cause harm, but you will not be able to leave this realm until you have learned how to harness your power for love and good, not for selfish or evil means.
Three Magic Words Jogged My Memory
About 18 months ago, I was first venturing into some books by New Thought teachers (1800s to mid 1900s). New Thought teachings, are really old thoughts brought forward into modern times. I happened onto the 1954 book, Three Magic Words (listen on Youtube), by U.S. Andersen. His entire book revolves around the mystical truth of the three greatest words ever spoken: I am God. I guess I was ready for these three words as a personal application, because it profoundly resonated in a deep place as truth. At any other time before, I would have resisted such egregious blasphemy. But it also reminded me of a Bible verse.
“Be still and know that I am God” Ps. 46:10.
Imagine how transformative this verse could be if we took it personally? Why would we not take it personally? If I am to quiet myself and focus on the meaning, I am God (or I am consciously merged with God), how else could this be interpreted? It is ultimate fellowship, belonging, and identity to merge oneself with God-consciousness!
Jesus said: “Unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins” (John 7:24). I no longer believe that Jesus was talking about himself. The book of John is to be understood on the mystical, symbolic, spiritual level. Jesus was teaching deeper truths to his listeners, not plain truths. God-consciousness or Christ-consciousness dissolves sin and death.
You and I already have the great I AM spirit within us. Everything is available to us as “partakers of the Divine Nature.” The key is waking up to this fact, believing it, bathing in it daily, and walking in it.
Blimey! There’s so much we don’t understand about our realm! As we learned about in my posts on Word Magic (and here), the vibrational, spiritual, and psychological impact of words are potent, with the development of languages intended to cast magic spells on the speakers and listeners. It is crucial to find and use the words for our empowerment. No more powerful, magical words are ever spoken or internalized than, “I am God.”
Does this mean I am the Creator God, or that I am a God in my own right? I am not totally sure. I do believe as mortals we are created in a fractal likeness of the Creator of this Story, but it is suggested that we are also very powerful Gods in our own right, perhaps normally residing in other galactic systems. As we say in Puerto Rico, “Quien sabe?!”🤷🏽 I’m not here to declare any certainty about our ultimate identities, just the hints that we have been given throughout holy books, prophets, and time.
Word of caution. “I am __(fill in the blank)___ is a powerful word spell that we put on ourselves. I am tired. I am sick. I am stupid. I am poor. I am unable. Every day, we declare these potent word spells that disempower and disable our fulfillment and happiness. Equally potent are these: I am energetic. I am healthy and vibrant. I am intelligent. I am thoughtful. I am rich and always provided for. I am love. Learn to guard your “I am” statements. They must be used for your highest and best, not declaring curses and doom upon yourself. If you declare something positive that you do not already embody, it’s almost like lying to yourself, but in reality, you are pronouncing an energetic imprint on yourself of what you intend to be. Such a powerful practice can shift your reality!
You can have whatever you believe you are. You are the creator of your experience, whether for suffering and chaos, or for pleasure and ease. You are the one who is responsible, just as I am responsible for my life experience.
I’ll admit, when I first heard that, I did not want to believe it or accept it. I ran from it for a long time, cursing the idea as unpalatable and impossible. I did not want to believe that my difficult life experiences, struggles for financial security, and great emotional wounds and suffering was somehow my own doing. I would never intend suffering or lack for myself or anyone, or so I thought! But yet, I’ve been doing it to myself and others my whole life with unconsciously spoken words!
Also my own doing has been consciously giving my power away. Consistent with my early childhood religious programming, I’ve held to beliefs that all the good things that have happened to me were blessings from God, and all the bad things that happened to me, were the result of the inescapable spirit of evil in this world (in the old days this was “Satan,” though I no longer believe in a single being called Satan).
But listening to hours of New Thought and Law of Attraction teachers over the past three years (several are listed below), my subtle beliefs began to be challenged.
I will be honest that I’m still not sure of the balance between fated “acts of God” vs. causing and attracting the events in our lives. Do we choose and attract all experiences? Or are some of our experiences brought about by a God beyond ourselves? I’m somewhat new in my learning and practice, so I don’t have all the kinks worked out yet.
For example, in 2010, I heard a “voice” in my conscious awareness tell me that I was going to become a nurse. It wasn’t a request; it was a life-altering directive. Whose voice was it? Why at that time in my life? Why nursing, of all things? This felt like an impossible feat. I had never comprehended health sciences very well when I was younger (biology, microbiology), so I didn’t think I had the aptitude. I was terrified of learning such a high stakes new profession where takes years to become competent. I had never even entertained the idea of working in healthcare, and I hated hospital environments. But here it was, some Heavenly dictate. It didn’t feel like I had an opinion on the matter, so I started down the path.
All the doors opened easily for me to pursue a nursing degree. I encountered teachers who made complex scientific concepts understandable. I got hired for several amazing jobs that gave me extensive experience and knowledge toward my pursuit. I received an unexpected, large scholarship that covered most of my nursing school expenses. After five years of extremely hard work, I graduated at 49-years-old with a 4.0 from nursing school, and landed a job at a wonderful team-oriented teaching hospital. Over the past ten years, I’ve had miraculous, life-enriching, soul-expanding experiences that I know were not “my” idea. Again, WHO sent me down that path? My higher self? My now self? God? A guide?
I can’t answer that question yet. But it is becoming clear to me now that at least most of our daily lived experiences are what we draw to ourselves and continue to reinforce—for our benefit or to our detriment. The difficult life circumstances we encounter, can become opportunities, obstacles, or roadblocks. We get to choose. Whatever our current circumstances, we can change them into something much better with knowledge, intention, and practice.
In the Law of Attraction and the New Thought Movement, there are similar sayings that speak of our great power to shape our reality:
*What you think about, you bring about.
*The All is Mind, from The Emerald Tablet (an ancient Egyptian green stone rumored to have contained the secrets of the Universe). The meaning is that everything in our experience in this realm starts in and is controlled and shaped by the mind.
*As above, so below. As within, so without. We are a reflection of what we believe. It’s like we live in a giant holographic, mirroring spiral. Whatever we emanate, intend, act out, or declare, comes back to us. This is why it is so important to be conscious, deliberate in this realm in what we are creating with our words, our intentions, our actions.
I used to balk at this teaching that I am creating my own reality. I wanted to feel like it was someone else’s responsibility. For most of my life, I have been giving away my power—to some false god, to other people, to authorities, to circumstances. But over time, I have been rearranging my beliefs to support my own power.
Beliefs can level the playing field of life. They hold the golden key, the magic elixir of life. Paying attention to my beliefs and my I am statements has truly changed my life for the better. I can’t possibly teach you what others have already done so well. If you are interested in what I’m saying, please check out the following resources and let them take you on your own journey.
